What's in The Water?

It was a major storm back in June 2001, a flood to remember for our family, Tropical Storm Allison. It w
as morning when the rain started to pour and it continued throughout the day. Before
we knew it, the neighborhood started to flood. So we immediately started to pray in the Holy Ghost and take authority commanding the water not to come into our home. As we prayed we heard our neighbor bellowing out machine gun prayer, as they screamed and pointed to the storm in their driveway. Our kids were young at the time and it was passed their bedtime, so we put our kids down for bed. While the kids were fast asleep, we stayed up for the remainder of the evening and continued to pray in the holy ghost. As time passed, we noticed the water starting to creep up our driveway and then the porch. By 11 pm that night, it slowly began to come in through the front door. Fear began to grip me as the water kept rising inside the house. “Baby, there is nothing we can do, so try to lay down and get some sleep,” Kyle said. “Are you serious?!” I thought to myself, I couldn’t even think about sleep when there was water com
ing into my house! So, Kyle went into the other room to grab the kids to bring them into the master bedroom and we all laid down in our bed. Surprisingly our cellphones were still working but it wasn’t much help because we couldn’t get through to 911 as they were overloaded with calls. We continued to lay on the bed, trying to figure out what to do next as the w
ater reached the box spring of the bed touching the mattress. Then Kyle had a thought that we may have to head to the attic. I lay there crying, praying, and holding my babies as they both lay beside me sound asleep. When the rain finally stopped, the water stopped and stayed just below the electrical sockets, so the idea of climbing up to the attic wasn’t necessary. The n
ext day, as we begin to wake up, and to our surprise, the kids got excited and asked if they could play in the water. Kyle then decided to get out of bed first so he can check the damages. As he walked through the water, it was calf deep and he noticed that there may be ants in the water. “Kathy, you and the kids be careful because it feels like ants are biting my legs in the water,” Kyle said. On the Third Day the water started to recede, Kyle heard the refrigerator still running underwater and thought “Oh great! We don’t have to replace the fridge!” So he called my brother Manuel and asked him to contact his father-in-law because he knows how to work on refrigerators. He explained to him that it had been running underwater for three days. When my brother called us back and told us that his father-in-law asked if we were still alive, I was confused. Of course, we were! Why would he ask such a thing? He explained that he too was surprised because it wasn’t ants biting our legs, the fridge was sending electrical currents through the water and we should have all been dead hours a
go. That following week, God spoke to Kyle as what he describes in a “Glory Cloud,” and told him that our praying in the spirit and taking authority all day and all night wasn’t for the water to not come into our home, but it was to save our families lives from those electrical currents. That gave me a new perspective on the power of taking authority and praying in the spirit. The Bible says: Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses, for we do not know what we should pray for as we ought but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groaning
which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. We encourage you to always set your day in Psalms 91. Be Blessed!!
